An essay about Typhoon Vicente in July 2012 and the effects of the storm on the city of Macau, the Special Administrative Region of China. Typhoon Vicente was a powerful tropical cyclone that struck Macau, Hong Kong and China. On July 24, Vicente hit Hong Kong and Macau and perturbed ground and air transportation and the daily occupations of the residents. Many institutions were closed and people were directed to to take shelter. The typhoon terminated its course in mainland China, where it caused considerable damage, destroying homes and causing floods. The essay depicts the damages done by the typhoon in Macau and the everyday life still going on right after the worst of the storm has passed.
